The Challenge
International sports broadcasting demands flawless execution under extreme time pressure. Each event is a one-shot opportunity with millions of viewers. The challenge was delivering broadcast-grade quality while managing complex multi-camera setups across diverse venues with varying infrastructure.
The Solution
I served as Senior vMix operator and technical director across ATP/WTA professional tennis circuits and Spain's premier football competition, the Copa del Rey.
Key Technical Deliverables
- vMix Production: Expert-level vMix operation for multi-camera live switching, real-time graphics overlay, and instant replay integration during high-pressure live events.
- CCU Operations: Camera Control Unit management for 5 consecutive Copa del Rey finals, ensuring consistent color matching and exposure across all broadcast cameras.
- Signal Transport: Engineered live broadcast transmission over LTE and 5G networks for remote production workflows, reducing on-site crew requirements.
- Multi-Venue Integration: Managed complex AV system integrations across different venues, adapting to varying infrastructure and connectivity constraints.
- Technical Direction: Led technical teams for mobile unit operations at international tournaments, coordinating camera operators, audio engineers, and graphics operators.
